Fabrics – How & Where
Choosing fabric
Choose fabrics worthy of your investment. Consider whether it’s the ideal weight for the style. What are the care instructions? Soft fabrics are best for a draping style, stiffer fabrics for a structured style.
Fabric usually comes in widths of 115 and 150 cm. If you’re not sure about the lengths or widths of fabric in relation to your style, please consult with us, as that is part of our service to you.
Scrunch a little bit of the fabric in your hand to see if you’re happy with its resistance to creasing. Find thread that matches the fabric as closely as possible – this is a hallmark of a quality garment.
Finally, before you choose fabric, hold it up to your face and drape it around your body to see if it flatters your own colouring. Some shades will drain you of your natural colour, while others will enhance your natural colours.
